On September 26, 2020, the VFW Department of Ohio will be celebrating the 121st "Founder’s Day” at Green Lawn Cemetery. The service includes a short parade within the cemetery, consisting of man VFW Post, and ending at an area close to the grave site of James Romanis. James was one of the 14 men that formed the American Veterans of Foreign Service in Columbus, Ohio on September 29, 1899. In August 1913 three veteran or- generations, American Veterans of Foreign Service, Arm of the Philippines and the Foreign Service Veterans decided to combine their memberships for a stronger voice for veteran assistance. The were renamed the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I would encourage everyone that can attend to do so. Register at the cemetery (there will be folks there to guide ou where to park) between 9:00-9:30 AM, and the parade around (it is a short "route-step”walk) is at 10:00 AM. Ensure ou sign in with our name and Post/Auxiliar number.
