March Commander’s Message
For those that have not heard. We have lost a very close friend and Captain of the Joint VFW and American Legion Honor/Color Guard, Jack Steinhausser. We will miss his spirited demeanor, his jubilant greetings, his smile and his volunteering at meal times. His grave side service will be April 10 at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
As you may already know our benevolent Governor has lifted the restrictions on how late restaurants and bars may remain open. Hopefully this is a sign that we as a State and Country are headed back to some sort of norm. That is, as best we can, considering what we will accept as normal. Please continue to follow the guidance that remains in place.
Hopefully our cold and snowy season has passed and we can get ready for a comfortable Spring. I know that many of us are tired of being cooped up in our houses and are looking forward being able to get outside.
We are planning to get our new patio prepared for use in the upcoming warmer months. While it can be used as is you may experience some times that we will be working on it. Please be patient. If there is anyone that would like to volunteer to assist feel free to contact our Building Committee Chairman, Dick Poczik or myself. You can call the Post at 614-475-9111 and leave a message for us or contact us or any officer of the Post in person.
As usual, I close with thanking all those that have continued to support our Post. Our management and staff continue to ensure our facility is clean and safe. However, this could not be possible without the support of our members and guests.
Thank you for your continuing support.
