As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

 Kommander's Korner!

On September 26, 2020, the VFW Department of Ohio will be celebrating the 121st "Founders Da􏰘y” at Green Lawn Cemetery. The service includes a short parade within the cemeter􏰘y, consisting of man􏰘 VFW Post, and ending at an area close to the grave site of James Romanis. James was one of the 14 men that formed the American Veterans of Foreign Service in Columbus, Ohio on September 29, 1899. In August 1913 three veteran organi􏰗ations, American Veterans of Foreign Service, Arm􏰘 of the Philippines and the Foreign Service Veterans decided to combine their memberships for a stronger voice for veteran assistance. The􏰘 were renamed the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I would encourage ever􏰘yone that can attend to do so. Register at the cemetery􏰘 (there will be folks there to guide 􏰘ou where to park) between 9:00-9:30 AM, and the parade around (it is a short "route-stepwalk) is at 10:00 AM. Ensure 􏰘you sign in with 􏰘our name and Post/Auxiliary􏰘 number.
